Joseph L. Grochowski of Wilkes-Barre passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born Jan. 9, 1941, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Joseph and Lillian Gustanski Grochowski.

Joseph was a 1959 graduate of Marymount High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was employed doing maintenance by Interfaith Apartments and Pomeroy's department store, Wilkes-Barre.

He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre.

Joe enjoyed western movies with John Wayne, civil war related movies and books, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, on Jan. 28, 2015; and sister, Carol Miller.

Surviving are his son, Joseph John Grochowski and his wife, Maria, Summerville, S.C.; daughters, Amy Klush-York and her husband, Charlie, Stephenville, Texas; and Stacy Grochowski, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Taylor, Molly, Evan, Sofia, and Areiol Grochowski and Cherie Klush; great-grandchildren, Syreaya, Jocelyn, and Makayla; and sister, Charlene Parduski and her husband, Stanley, Shavertown.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday from Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, followed by graveside services at 11 a.m. in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, 8th St., Carverton.
