Josephine C. Morio, 92, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

She was born Aug. 23, 1921 in Millsboro, Del., a daughter of the late Ollie and Amelia Lowe Hudson. Josephine was a 1940 graduate of Millsboro High School and a 1943 graduate of the Milford Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Milford, Del. She was employed for many years as a registered nurse by Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and by Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Plains Township, retiring in 1971.

Josephine was a member of St. Andrew's Parish in Wilkes-Barre and she was an active member of the Charles T. Adam's Senior Citizens Center in Wilkes-Barre. She enjoyed traveling with her daughters and their husbands and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren at family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Morio, in 1998; and by her son, Charles T. Morio, in 1987; brother, Alton Hudson; and sister, Virginia Adams.

Mrs. Morio is survived by her daughters, Joann Burman and her husband, Richard, Mountain Top; Shirley Potter and her husband, Charles, West Wyoming; Kathleen Ricci and her husband, James, Scranton; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Morio, Benton; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Vernon Hudson and his wife, Madeline, Laurel, Del.; Francis Hudson and his wife, Virginia, Seaford, Del.; sister-in-law: Mary Morrow, Bradenton, Fla.; brother-in-law, James Adams, Laurel, Del.; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Nat & Gawlas Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew's Parish, 316 Parish St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
