Lee Charles Littleford Sr.

In loving memory of Lee Charles Littleford Sr., 89, of Sheatown, who passed into the hands of the Lord on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017.

Lee was surrounded by his loving family at Guardian Health Care in Sheatown, where he had been a resident. Lee's family would like to thank the nurses and doctors for their loving care provided to Lee.

Lee was the son of the late Lee Jackson Littleford and Elizabeth Gashowski Littleford.

He is survived by his son, Lee Littleford Jr. and wife, June, Nanticoke; daughter, Joan Littleford Reinsel and husband, Rick, Cocoa, Fla.; and daughter, Karen Littleford Hrobak, Nanticoke. He is also survived by two sisters, Thelma Littleford Blockus, Sheatown; and Bettse Littleford Matzoni and husband, Dennis, Alden. Lee has six grandchildren, Lee Littleford III, Carrie Littleford, Kim Littleford, Tony Schafran Jr. and wife, Jennifer, Sandy Kovaly and husband, John, and Brandon Karavitch. Lee is also survived by several great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews that loved him.

Lee was born and raised in Sheatown and owned and operated Lee Littleford Trucking in Nanticoke, serving many customers with coal and oil most of his life until he retired in 2003. In addition, he worked for Phoenix Manufacturing driving tractor trailer. In earlier years he was owner-operator for Great Lakes Trucking. Lee enjoyed driving and working on his trucks and tractor trailers in his garage.

Lee proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lakey. Lee was a member of the American Legion for more than 60 years. Lee also served as a fireman for Newport Township, following in his father's footsteps.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lee's viewing from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, from Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home Inc., 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke.
