Linda Menichello Sperazza, 86, a lifelong Old Forge resident, died Monday evening, Feb. 25, 2013, in the Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband, Samuel Sperazza, died May 19, 1997.

Born in Old Forge to the late Paul and Ersilia Melucci Menichello, she was a 1943 graduate of Old Forge High School.
She was a faithful and active parishioner of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church at Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge, where she served as a Eucharistic minister, choir member and altar server. She selflessly served at many funeral Masses at the parish for several years. Linda also volunteered her time with the Meals on Wheels organization.
Surviving are three daughters, Cynthia Nee and husband, Coleman, Old Forge; Sandra Gromelski and husband, Gerald, Old Forge; and Linda Marcyoniak and husband, Edward, West Scranton; eight grandsons, Michael, Patrick and Coleman Nee, Jere, Stephen, Joseph and Sam Gromelski and Edward Marcyoniak; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Emil Menichello; two sisters, Mary Menichello and Gilda Cardiello; and a grandson, Christopher Nee.
The funeral will be held Friday, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Lawrence O'Toole Church at Prince of Peace Parish, 620 S. Main St., Old Forge, to be celebrated by the Rev. Dr. Michael J. Kirwin. Those attending are asked to proceed directly to the church. Interment services will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until Mass time on Friday.
