Mrs. Lydia R. Fritz, 96, of Locust Valley, Barnesville, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, at her home. She was the widow of Dewey Fritz, who passed away in 2000.

She was born in Locust Valley, a daughter of the late Robert and Mae Skeath Price. She was a 1940 graduate of Mahanoy City High School. At one time, Lydia worked at the former the Atlas Powder Co. She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ Church, Locust Valley, a big fan of the Philadelphia Phiiles and a member of the Locust Valley Hen Club.

She was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Fritz in 1995. Also preceding her in death were brothers and sisters, Edna Reiseg, Lettie Herring, Mary Price, Robert Price, Thomas Price, Ruth Herring and Anna Mlynek.

Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Fritz, Locust Valley; daughter Miriam, wife of Mick Cappos, Wilkes-Barre; and the Rev. Lucille Fritz, Shelton, Conn.; two grandchildren, Megan, wife of Scott Eshleman, and Michael Cappos; and a great-grandchild, April Eshleman.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's United Church of Christ Church, Locust Valley, Barnesville. The Rev. David Shoobridge is officiating. The viewing is from 10 a.m. until time of service in the church. Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park.
