Marion H. Wilkas Abarelli, 96, formerly of Forty Fort and Pittston, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Plains Twp.

Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Marcella Chernauskas Wilkas.

A graduate of Pittston High School, Class of 1939, she also attended Lackawanna Business College, Scranton, and served her country as a volunteer for the U.S. Navy WAVES for two years. She then worked for Rohm Haas Chemical Manufacturing, Pensauken, N.J., for many years. She was a member of Lithuanian Women's Club of Wyoming Valley and a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish, Pittston.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, John Abarelli, in 1987; her son, Dennis Bobo; and sister, Margaret Dobish.

Surviving is her niece, Linda McCormick, Berwick; great-nephew, Tim McCormick and his wife, Becky, Milton, Mass.; great-niece, Kelly McCormick and husband, Sam, Mountain Lakes, N.J.

The family would like to thank the staff at Timber Ridge for the wonderful care, compassion and kindness Marion received during her stay.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. John the Evangelist Parish, 35 William St., Pittston.

Interment will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Pittston.

Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William St., Pittston.
