Mary Ann Clarke, 43, of Dallas passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Springfield, Ill., Mary was the daughter of Thomas J. and Sandra Chastain Clarke, Springfield, Ill.
Mary attended Lincoln-Way High School, New Lenox, Ill., and graduated from Carmel High School, Carmel, Ind. She was a graduate of Ball State University, Muncie, Ind. Mary was All-State in Illinois and Indiana and All-Chicago in basketball, soccer and track and field. While at Ball State, she participated in Division 1 track and field.
She worked at Adam's Associates at the Red Rock Job Corps Center, Lopez, as the director of finance and administration. Mary was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking.
Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Bernadine Antey Chastain; paternal grandparents, Thomas E. and Vivian Welle Clarke; aunts, Mary Barbaradean Chastain, Judith L. Veith; uncle, Jeffrey F. Chastain; cousin, William Chastain; great-aunt, Dorothy Ryan.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are brothers, Thomas J. Clarke Jr. and wife, Amy, Frisco, Texas; Edward J. Clarke, Mokena, Ill.; sisters, Madonna Henrichsen and husband, Christopher, Kankakee, Ill.; Katherine M. Moore and husband, William, San Antonio, Texas; nephews and nieces, Nicholas and Jacqualyn Henrichsen, Cade Bennett, Makenzie, Joshua and Joseph Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. The Rev. Thomas M. Cesarini will officiate. A private interment will be made at the convenience of family. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
