Mary Ann (Shimkoski) D'Agosta, 82, of Dupont passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 at her home.

Born in Dupont on March 10, 1931, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Stanish) Shimkoski.

Mary Ann was a 1948 graduate of Dupont High School and 1952 nursing graduate of Temple University. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont.

In 1986, Mary Ann retired from Fairfield Hills Hospital, Newtown, Conn., where she worked as an registered nurse for more than 34 years.

Mary Ann was an avid reader; she could finish a book in a day.

Preceding her in death was her loving son, Ralph Anthony Jr.; three brothers, Edward, John and Joseph Shimkoski.

Left to cherish her memory are two loving daughters, Denise D. Baxter, and her husband, Guy, Patterson, La.; Jacqueline Morse, and her husband, Kevin, New Milford, Conn.; a son, Michael Joseph D'Agosta, Danbury, Conn.; three grandsons, Derek (Sydney) D'Agosta, Raymond (Lisa) and Nicholas Morse; four grandchildren, Larson, Tensley, Blaine and Tyler; two sisters, Theresa Shimkoski and Rose Pilkonis, both of Dupont; two brothers, Robert, Dupont; and Stanley, Wilkes-Barre; several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held a Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, 728 Main St., Avoca, with the Rev. Joseph Verespy officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury, Conn.
