Mary Lou Spencer, 57, a resident of the Parsons section, Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Mary Lou was born in Nanticoke, daughter of the late Charles E. Spencer Sr. and Lois Williams Spencer.
She was a graduate of Nanticoke High School and had been employed by the former Klein Candy Co., now, Core-Mark Inc., Hanover Township, retiring due to ill health.
Mary loved nature, music, travel and good times with good friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Edward Spencer Jr. and Robert Spencer, and a nephew, Clifford Spencer Jr.
Surviving are her children, Rob Spencer, Ron Wright and Mary Wright; grandchildren, Eva, Jordan, Elonnie, Robbie and Kaylyn, all of Wilkes-Barre; brothers, Clifford Spencer and his wife, Peggy, Plymouth; and Dewain Spencer, Wilkes-Barre; former husband, William Wright, Wilkes-Barre; and companion, Barry Hannon, Wilkes-Barre, with whom she participated in a sacred union ceremony in Arizona, affirming their love for all time.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at H. Merritt Hughes Funeral Home Inc., a Golden Rule Funeral Home, 451 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
The family requests that, if flowers are sent, that they be either potted or house plants which Mary Lou liked, or donations may also be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
