Mary M. Baldo of Maple Lane, Tunkhannock, died Sunday in Kindred Hospital, Wyoming Valley.

She was born in West Wyoming on June 18, 1930, daughter of the late Edward and Carmella DeMarko Furner.

Mary was a 1947 graduate of West Wyoming High School. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a cafeteria worker by the Tunkhannock Area School District. She was a member of the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed attending all of her children and grandchildren's sporting events.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore J. Baldo Sr., on Sept. 24, 2005; brothers, Joseph and Paul Furner; and a sister, Susan Pacovsky.

Surviving are sons, Salvatore "Sal" Baldo of Tunkhannock, Ronald Baldo of Elizabeth, Colo. and Anthony Baldo of Laflin; daughters, Linda Porter of Harleysville and Catherine Voda of Falls; brother, Sam Furner of Springfield, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Pieta Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
