Mary Schraeder

Mary Schraeder, of Alden Station, went home to the Lord on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Keystone Garden Estates, Larksville.

Born April 7, 1929, in Alden, Mary was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Tullai Yuhas. She graduated from Newport Township High School and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse. She was employed at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and the former Nanticoke State Hospital.

Mary was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Alden. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening at her home.

First and foremost, Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She married James D. Schraeder and together shared 45 years of marriage until his death on April 30, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a sister in infancy.

Surviving are her son, James D. Schraeder, Jr., his wife, Ann Marie, and their daughters, Amanda and Kristin, all of Glen Lyon.

Services will begin at 9:15 a.m. Friday from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke with a funeral service at 10 a.m. at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, East Kirmar Avenue, Alden with Archbishop Melchisedeck, officiating.

Viewing and visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Parastas will be at 6 p.m.

Mrs. Schraeder's family extends their sincere appreciation to the entire staff at Keystone Garden Estates as well as Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the wonderful care given and compassion shown during her stay.
