Mildred M. Jones, 102, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre.

She was born in Palo Alto on Nov. 30, 1910, a daughter of the late John and Sally Martin Yost.
Mildred was formerly employed by the local garment industry and she was later employed for 17 years as a nursing assistant by Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Mildred was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Wilkes-Barre, and she was a member of the Salvation Army Senior Citizens and Wilkes-Barre Senior Citizens Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Jones; by her daughter, Letty Mae Jones; and grandson, Daniel Jones. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John, George and Raymond Yost, and by her sisters, Florence Somers, Helen Yost, Ruth Lomell, Mary Troy and Dorothy Sheppel.
Surviving are her son, George Jones and his wife, Nancy, Valparaiso, Ind.; daughter, Margaret Goeringer and her husband, Howard, Hanover Township; grandson, Matthew Jones and his wife, Jen, Warsaw, Ind.; great-granddaughter, Danielle Jones; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Sam D. Garnett, pastor of Calvary Bible Church, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Burial Park, Carverton. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
