Miriam L. Kurtinitis, formerly of Levittown and West Pittston, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Pittston on Dec. 14, 1920, a daughter of the late Charles and Elsie Tompkins Vanderburg, she was a graduate of Exeter High School.
Miriam was a member of First Baptist Church, Pittston. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Irem Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kurtinitis in 1993; son, Gerald Kurtinitis, in 2012; and brother, Robert Vanderburg.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Ian, Sara and Jennifer; several nieces and a nephew.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston. The Rev. James Breese, her pastor, will officiate.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Interment will be in West Pittston Cemetery.
