Paul L. Levandowski, 75, of Mountain Top passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born July 27, 1937 in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Walter and Sally Weiss Levandowski.
Paul was a graduate of Marymount High School, Class of 1955. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1960. He was employed by Atwater Throwing Co. on Blackman Street in Wilkes-Barre and Main Street in Plymouth for 27 years as a quality control supervisor.
Then, following his life's dream, he worked at the former IDS Financial, currently Ameriprise. Paul worked his way to becoming a franchise owner and was self-employed for the last 28 years as a financial adviser at Ameriprise Financial Inc., with an office in the Jewelcor Building, Wilkes-Barre.
He was a member of the Warsaw Sportsmans Club, Wilkes-Barre Township, and served as treasurer for the entire existence of the club. He was also a member and the treasurer of the Wyoming Valley Ski Club. Paul was a member of the Wyoming Valley Country Club, Hanover Township, and a former member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by his son, Stanley, in September of last year.
He is survived by his wife, the former Johnnie Faye Brashier, with whom he was married 27 years on Aug. 25, 2012; daughters, Pamela Ziegler-Edwardsville; Cynthia Stevenson-Crofton, Md.; Caroline Middleton, Foster Township; grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Getts, Charles James Middleton Jr., Kylie Faye Stevenson, Meghan Middleton, Lexa Anne Stevenson, Michael Middleton, Logan Anne McCoy, James Luminella, Austin Attardo, great-grandchildren, Liam Getts, Elias Paul Getts, Hailey Anne Middleton; sisters, Joan Romanowski and husband, Donald, Hunlock Creek; Sylvia Lukasawicz and husband, Joseph, Taylor; niece, Drs. Renee Polis and husband, Dustin, Conshohocken; brother and sister-in-law, Sammy and Becky Scott, Alabama; aunt, Dorothy Ritzie, Stroudsburg; several cousins and family and friends in Alabama.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top. The Rev. Joe Evancho will be celebrant. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
