Pearl M. Zupko, 98, formerly of Lower Askam, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at Tiffany Court, Kingston

She was born in Danville on Oct. 30, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Jasper and Ruth Barnhart Phillips. Pearl was a graduate of Danville High School, Class of 1937, and employed as a factory worker for various dress companies and was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Hanover Section of Nanticoke, and very active in church affairs.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Michael; brothers, Arthur, Sumner, Woodrow, Pershing and Coolidge; and sisters, Genevieve and Goldie.

Surviving are her son, Michael Zupko, Lower Askan; daughters, Constence Moyer, Wyomissing; and Marlene Kalinowski, Alden; grandchildren, Edward Kalinowski Jr., Sheatown; Adam Zupko, Edwardsville; Michael Zupko, Lake Areal; Jennifer Moyer, Washington, D.C.; Rebecca Kasipidis, North Carolina; Zyrah Zupko Lake Areal; Marissa Turco, Las Vegas, Nev.; Nadia Zukosky, Dallas; Amanda Carson, Wyoming; great-grandchildren, Rell and Winter Kasipidis, North Carolina; Taylor Kittle, Las Vegas, Nev.; Brooklyn and Giuliana Zukosky, Dallas; and Rio and Kelly Carson, Wyoming.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., 51 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with Devine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. John's Russian Orthodox Church, Front St., Hanover Section, with the Very Rev. Father Traian Stafine conducting services. Interment will be in parish cemetery, Nanticoke.

Family and friends are invited to join the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Parastas services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Zupko family would like to thank the staff at Tiffany Court and Sacred Heart Hospice for their loving care given to their loving mother.
