Pearl Mae Barber, 86, of Dallas passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.

Born in Luzerne, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Dickson Stiles and attended the Luzerne schools.
She was a textile worker with Native Textiles.
Pearl was a member of the former East Dallas United Methodist Church and was actively involved in the church and its choir until its closing.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Barber; granddaughter, Charlie Shelby Zook; brothers, Ernest Stiles and Robert Stiles; and sisters, Elizabeth Bulkley and Emily Monroe.
Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Irvin Barber, Dallas; sons, Irvin C. Barber, Nashville, Tenn.; and Gary W. Barber, Bidgeport, Ala.; daughter, Linda Culver, Sweet Valley; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from River of Life Fellowship Church, Outlet Road, Lehman, the Rev. Kenneth Kreller, pastor of River of Life Church, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at the Meadows Nursing Center and the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their loving and caring support that was given to Pearl and her family.
