Peter Paul Lukasavage Jr. of Wilkes-Barre passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.

He was born June 8, 1933, in Wilkes-Barre, to the late Peter and Mary Lukasavage. He attended GAR High School and enlisted in the Navy in June of 1951. He then served in the Korean War aboard the USS Sarasota.

After the war, he worked at Foster Wheeler in Mountain Top as a crane operator. He was a jack-of-all-trades who worked as a private contractor and at Laborers Local 215.

He married his sweetheart, Betty Keyes Lukasavage, in 1955, and they spent 63 wonderful years together.

In his younger years, he was an amateur boxer. He had a love for construction and was always building something in the backyard. He was also a member of the Catholic War Vets.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tony Lukasavage.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, and their three sons, Peter, wife, Cindy, Havre de Grace, Md.; Kenneth, wife, Eileen, Mountain Top; and Michael, wife, Maria, Dallas. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Taylor, Michael, Matthew and Morgan; along with his siblings, Barbara Hockenberry and Joan Lukasavage; as well as his nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their thanks Riverstreet Manor and Geisinger Wyoming Valley PCU for their top-notch care.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. John S. Terry will officiate. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
