Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years on July 25, 2006, and her son, Dr. Gerald Ferry Jr., on Dec. 21, 2003.

She and her husband were active members of St. Mary's Parish in Wilkes-Barre and the Circle Eight Square Dancing Club. In retirement, they loved to travel across the country with friends and family, especially Ann and Charlie Ragsdale.
