Richard J. Wickkiser Jr., 24, of Hanover Township passed away Oct. 24, 2013, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born on July 28, 1989, Richie was the son of Richard J. Sr. and Renee Obitz Wickkiser. He was a graduate of Hanover High School, Class of 2007, and was presently enrolled at Columbia Vo Tech where he was being educated as a welder.

Richie loved being with his family and enjoyed the outdoors, especially going fishing and riding his motorcycle. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and will forever be in our hearts and memories.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Margaret Wickkiser and Raymond Obitz.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, Richard Sr. and Renee Wickkiser, are his sister, Brittany and her companion, Matt Morio; his sister, Madison; his niece, Julianna Morio; and his paternal grandmother, Debbie Karlowicz. He is also survived by his companion, Tia Hartenfels, who is expecting the couple's first child in April, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Charles V. Sherbin Funeral Home, Main Road, Hanover Green, Hanover Township. Interment will be in Hanover Green Cemetery. The Rev. Dan Thomas will be officiating.

Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
