Robert Cardillo Sr., 75, of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at home after a battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Irene Norkaitis Cardillo.

He was born Aug. 22, 1942, in Stamford, Conn. He was the son of the late Veronica and Albert Cardillo. He graduated from Kingston High School, Kingston, and Wilkes College.

He worked in advertising until he started his photo finishing business, Custom Color Lab. Prior to retiring, he worked in radio advertising and as a salesman for Certified Laboratories.

During his free time, he enjoyed going to Penn State football games and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hockey games. He also served as "Mr. Fix It" and "the keeper of the batteries" for his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his daughter, Lisa and her husband, Kenny O'Brien, Dallas; son, Robert and his wife, Carrie, Kingston; sister, Mary Ann and her husband, Joseph Costello, Yatesville; brother, Tom and his wife, Melanie, Shavertown; sister, Nancy Yalch, Wanamie; grandchildren, Rory, RJ and Ryan; and several nieces and nephews.

The family extends their thanks and appreciation to the many doctors and nurses who have taken care of him over the years, especially Dr. James Galasso and Lois Carver.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerby Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Nesbitt Street, Larksville.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
