Robert H. (Bob) Booth Sr., 82, of Trucksville passed away at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas, on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014.

Born April 3, 1931, in Hunlock Creek, to Peter and Carrie Wright Booth, he attended school in Hunlock Creek as a boy.

Bob worked as a truck driver for a few years; however, he spent most of his working years as a diesel mechanic. He worked for several different companies throughout the years, but most notably for A&A Leasing, for owners and longtime friends, the Acacio family.

Bob liked to spend time fishing, hunting, and tinkering with all types of gadgets. He was a novice guitarist, and enjoyed playing country music with his lifelong buddy, Cort Berchard. During his final year of life, Bob would frequently go down to his grandson's auto repair business and help out around the garage anywhere he could to keep himself busy.

He and his wife of 51 years, the former Helen M. Kozac, were married on Sept. 26, 1956. They spent most of their marriage living in Swoyersville, Courtdale and Wilkes-Barre/Laurel Run.

He will be especially remembered and missed for his quick wit, tenaciousness and humor.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his brothers, Kenneth, Thomas, Joseph, David and Harold; sisters, Carrie Burke and Myrtle Edwards; and granddaughter, Carrie A Booth.

He is survived by his son, Robert H. Booth Jr. and his wife, Lynn (Mikolinis), Laurel Run; daughter, Cynthia and her husband, Clinton Carlson, Portsmouth, Va.; grandchildren, Sherry Booth, Hanover Township; Robert H. Booth III and his wife, Koren (Strickland), Sweet Valley; and Allison Carlson, Portsmouth, Va.; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Walter, Courtdale; and Peter, Hunlock Creek; sisters, Anna Cooper and Caroline Booth, Larksville; Clara Simon and Marge Evans, Wilkes-Barre; Shirley Booth Shumgart, Tuscarora; and Helen Lewis, Wyoming; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome to call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home, 281 Chapel St., Swoyersville.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home, with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
