Robert J. Bernoskie, 83, of Pittston passed away peacefully in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, surrounded by his family.

Born Jan. 24, 1929, Robert was the son of the late Dominick and Agnes Bernoskie, Pittston. He was a graduate of Pittston High School.
Robert was a watch maker by trade. He was employed for many years by Atlas Chain, West Pittston. Until retirement, Robert was employed by the Tobyhanna Army Depot, where he served as an equipment specialist/technical writer.
Robert served for many years as a Eucharistic minister at St. Mary's Assumption Church, Pittston. He had a most special devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe. He lived every day with great love and faith in God. He was a kind and generous man who loved having the title of "Pop." One of his greatest joys was caring for his grandson, Robert.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth Bernoskie; by sons, Richard and Robert; and a daughter, Andrea Kachurak.
Surviving are his daughter, Brenda D'Eliseo and her husband, Ron, Duryea; son, David, Pittston; son-in-law, Andrew Kachurak Sr., Wilkes-Barre; daughter-in-law, Linda Bernoskie, Quakertown; grandchildren, Nicole Hulse and her husband, Jerry, Andrew Kachurak, Christen, Ronnie and Robert D'Eliseo, David, Taylor, Caitlin and Lauren Bernoskie; great-grandson, Jayden Bernoskie; sister, Dorothy Davis, Syracuse, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bernoskie's family is most grateful and thankful to Dr. Gerald Gibbons and the 5 East staff of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for their care, kindness and compassion.
The funeral will be Saturday, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main St., Pittston. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the Mass on Saturday.
Arrangements are by Paul F. Leonard Funeral Home, 575 N. Main St., Pittston.
