Robert L. Harrison, 80, of Buck Township passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Timber Ridge Nursing Home, Plains Township.

Robert was born in Wilkes-Barre on May 10, 1932, a son of the late Harry Henry Harrison and Catherine Carbohn Harrison. He was a graduate of Coughlin High School and he was an Army veteran, serving in the 101st Airborne Infantry during the Korean War.

Robert was formerly employed by Inter Metro Industries, Wilkes-Barre, as a welder.

He was a member of Bennett-Derr United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jeremy Pearson; brothers, Harry, Benjamin and Theodore Harrison; and sisters, Margaret Saraka, Dorothy Harrison, Marie Fuller, Loretta Mrozowski, Ruth Lewis, Barbara Harrison, Mae Petercosky, Catherine Harris and Fannie Cook.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou Luton Harrison; son, Robert L. Harrison Jr. and his wife, Jen, Swoyersville; daughter, Merilinda Thomas and her husband, Robert, Mountain Top; grandchildren, Aubrey Pearson, Bobby Thomas, April Harrison and Autumn Harrison; great-grandson, Shane Pearson; sister, Anna Reese, Wilkes-Barre; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Marcelle Dotson, pastor of Bennett-Derr United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Blakeslee Cemetery, Blakeslee. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers's Association, 57 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
