Robert M. Prashker, 88, of Kingston, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at the Oakland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Oakland, N.J.

Born July 5, 1928, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Harry and Ruth Prashker.

He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 56 years, Helena; his eldest daughter, Jan C. Prashker; and his sister, Jane Walter.

Robert was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a graduate of New York University, and in recent years was a tax volunteer with AARP.

Surviving are his daughters, Amy and husband, Robert Cohen, Massachusetts; Hana and husband, David Noriega, New Jersey; and Lori and husband, Michael W. Thomas, Kingston; grandchildren, Michael and Samantha Cohen, Sonia and Aaron Noriega and Melanie Prashker-Thomas; nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held Friday.

Arrangements are by Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Wilkes-Barre.

Shiva will be held at the family home, 805 Nandy Drive, Kingston, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
