Robert W. Hess, 87, of Rear Durkee Street, Forty Fort, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Kunkle, he was the son of the late Leroy and Lelia Wall Hess. He graduated from Dallas High School.

Robert had resided on Durkee Street in Forty Fort since 1963. Prior to his retirement in 1985, he was a milk deliveryman for Dallas Dairy. He was an avid college football fan, especially Penn State University.

Robert was a member of Forty Fort United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Shirley G. Hess, and brothers, Nile and Harold Hess.

Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth Hackling; daughter, Debra Hess, wife of Bruce T. Cole, Forty Fort; son, T. Douglas Hess, along with his wife, Ligia; four grandchildren, Gary Robert, Jacqueline Lee, Linda Shirley Hess and Victor Bonilla; sister, Wilma Williams; four stepchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews; and granddog, Desmond.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at Riverstreet Manor for their fine care.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with the Rev. Dr. Philip T. Wanck officiating. The entombment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
