Ronald E. Albee, 81, of Kings Point, Sun City Center, Fla., passed away after a short illness Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, in James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital, Tampa, Fla.

He was born in Ashley in 1930 to Arnot and Eva Albee. After marriage to Dorothy Albee in 1952, they moved to Springville, N.Y., in 1955.
He was employed by Peerless Winsmith until his retirement in 1992 after 35 years of service.
After retirement, he and his wife spent winters in Gulfport, Fla., and then permanently moved to Kings Point, Sun City Center, Fla., in 2005.
Ron honorably served in the Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge, where he was worshipful master of the Springville Lodge in 1985.
Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Carlson Albee; and two sisters-in-law, Nancy Albee, Ashley; and Lee Albee, Clearwater, Fla.
Ron will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, uncle and a friend to all he met.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, 1210 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City Center, Fla. His ashes will be inurned in the Columbarium located at the United Methodist Church in Springville, N.Y.
A service of celebration of Ron's life will be held in Springville at a later date to be announced.
