Ronald J. Weisgable, 73, of the Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday evening, Feb. 28, 2014, at the inpatient unit of Hospice Community Care, Celtic Health Care, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Frank and Irene (Jablonski) Weisgable and the stepson of Stephen Jasonis of Nanticoke. He was a graduate of Nanticoke High School and was an Army reservist.
Ron was employed for JC Penny until his retirement and was a former member of the North-End Slovak Citizens Club, North End section of Wilkes-Barre.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, Francis.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, the former Margaret "Peggy" Keeney, Miners Mills; son, Joseph Weisgable and his wife, Holly, Forty Fort; grandsons, Gavin Joseph Weisgable and Mack Patrick Weisgable; brother, Kenneth Weisgable and his wife, Debbie, Mountain Top; stepfather, Stephen Jasonis, Nanticoke; his best pals, Maggie and Katie; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict's Parish, 155 Austin Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Joseph A. Kearney, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Memorial Shrine Burial Park, Carverton section of Wyoming.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
