Rosemarie (Schimcott) Fiascki, 80, a life resident of Park Avenue in the city's Heights section, passed into eternal life Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 28, 2017, in the care of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following an illness.

Born May 7, 1937 in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter to the late Carl and Rosallia (Yekel) Schimcott. Educated in the city schools, she was a member of the 1955 graduating class of the GAR Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre.

Ms. Fiascki was previously a member of the former Messiah Lutheran Church, South Main Street.

Until her retirement, she served as administrative secretary to the Luzerne County Drug and Alcohol Program.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Mrs. Bertha Ledford and Mrs. Doris Christie.

Left to mourn her passing are daughters, Rosemarie R. Petrick and her husband, William, Wilmington, Del.; Carolyn M. Rhodes, Hanover; and Barbara A. Fiascki, at home; grandchildren, Lauren Berger and Jesse Petrick; several dear friends and neighbors.

Memorial funeral services for Ms. Fiascki will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Maple Hill Cemetery, 68 E. Saint Mary's Road, Hanover Twp. The Rev. Mary Laufer of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre, will serve as celebrant.

Interment with rite of committal will immediately follow in the family lot in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may join her daughters and family for visitation and remembrances Wednesday from 9:15 a.m. until the time of services at the cemetery chapel.
