Samuel L. Moss, 81, of Swoyersville and formerly of Bear Creek, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, in Wilkes-Barre General Hosptial.

He was born May 20, 1931, in Mossville, a son of the late Robert L. and Laura Downing Moss.

He attended Huntsville High School and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, serving as a master air flight mechanic.

For 20 years he was employed as a mechanic by Nelson's Furniture Co. He later opened his own garage in Kingston.

Mr. Moss enjoyed fishing and watching sports on television.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Celestine Snyder Moss, and brother, Irvin Moss.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bayada Health Care for the care and support they provided.

Surviving are his daughters, Mary Anne Modrak, M.D., Conklin, N.Y.; and Judy Perez, San Antonio; grandchildren, Elise, Fiona and Colin Modrak; brother, Kermit Moss, Mossville; and companion, Helen Golumbaski, Swoyersville.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Barbara's Parish at St. Cecilia's Church, Wyoming Avenue, Exeter. Interment will be in St. Martha's Cemetery, Fairmount Springs. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
