Stella Stepniak, 101, of Edwardsville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at St. Therese Residence, Wilkes-Barre, of natural causes.

She was born in Kingston, daughter of the late Sebastian and Cecelia Kutash, Wilkes. She was a graduate of Edwardsville High School. She worked for General Cigar in Kingston for 25 years.

Stella was a member of St. Hedwig's Church, Kingston. She was also a housewife, devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Benjamin Sr.; brothers, Edward and Joseph; and sisters, Mildred Wilkes, Florence Desciak and Elizabeth Tamalis.

Stella is survived by sisters, Agnes Urbanas, Josephine Wilkes and Marie Filipczyk; sons, Joseph and his wife, Sandra, Denver; and Benjamin Jr. and his wife, Sheri, Dallas; daughter, Barbara Miller and her husband, Michael, Virginia; grandchildren, Michael and his wife, Kristina; Dana Loan and her husband, Chris; Erin Meunier and her husband, Jeff; Timothy and his wife, Ashley; Kevin; Stacey; and Brian; and great-grandchildren, Cecelia, Caroline, Colin, Ruby, Danika, Sarah, Johnny, Jackson, Duke, Tyler, Rylee and Aidan.

Stella enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and seeing them grow up. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo and loved listening to polkas on the radio. She could always be found in Edwardsville on her screened-in porch.

The family would like to give special thanks to St. Therese Residence for their care and compassion for Stella over the last few years.

The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday from Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Therese Residence Activities Fund, 260 S. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
