Suzanne E. Behm, 57, of Wilkes-Barre passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre on March 24, 1955, a daughter of Bernard F. and Mary Ann N. Schimmel Behm. Suzanne was a special education graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1976. She was formerly active with the Day Development Program and the Wilkes-Barre Recreation Program.

Suzanne loved life. She especially loved music and attending dances. She was a fan of professional wrestling and watching and attending Penn State and Eagles football games. She was a member of St. Andrew's Parish in Wilkes-Barre and a longtime member of St. Boniface Church, Wilkes-Barre.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Daniel and Susie Schimmel; and her paternal grandparents, John and Anna Behm. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Bower; and her nephew: Matthew John Bower.

Surviving in addition to her parents, are brothers, Bernard F. Behm Jr. and his wife, Marianne, Philadelphia; John R. Behm and his wife, Helen, Wilkes-Barre; David J. Behm and his wife, Joy, Eagleville; brother-in-law, Charles Bower Jr., Renovo; nieces and nephews, Justin Behm; Laura Flowers; Jen Radecki; Kim, Jodi and Dayna Behm; Ayva and Sarah Behm. grand-niece, Savanna Radecki; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Suzanne's mother, father and entire family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to her caregivers, especially Dr. Patrick J. Kerrigan and her nurses and aides Sindy Giza, Darlene Shimko, Susan Yankay, Joyce Prebola and Eli Troup.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:30 a.m. in St. Andrew's Parish, 316 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics Luzerne County, P.O. Box 1832, Shavertown, PA 18708.
