Theresa Joan Bartuska (née Ruane), 83, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Theresa was born in Pittston, the daughter of the late Esther Ruane. She was a former resident of Bristol Borough but lived most of her life in Levittown.

Theresa was a homemaker, taking pride in her full-time job of raising her seven children. She was an example of strength and perseverance, teaching her children to be strong and independent. Theresa was known to tell her children "to always be true to yourself" and was truly the matriarch of the Bartuska family. She loved her Philadelphia Phillies and never missed an episode of "Wheel of Fortune."

In her later years, she took pride in her 10 grandchildren and was recently blessed with her first great-grandchild, born only six months before her passing. Theresa was a devout Catholic with extraordinary faith in God. She has left this world and is now with our Father in heaven.

Theresa is survived by her seven children, Renee Bartuska, Michael Bartuska Jr. (Rose), Mark Bartuska (Marti), Yvonne Engard (Perry), Matthew Bartuska (Alice), Myles Bartuska and Nicole Catena (Craig). Theresa will be sadly missed by her loving grandchildren, Rebecca Magro (Brian), Michael III, Mark Jr., Christopher, Aaron and Matthew Bartuska, Theresa and Thomas Engard and Dominic and Preston Catena, and her great-grandson, Brandon Magro. Theresa is also survived by her brother, Jack Ruane (Gail), and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Bonnie Pace, and her former husband, Michael Bartuska Sr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Levittown.

Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery, Newtown.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. Monday at Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe St., Bristol Borough.
