Thomas C. Kubek, 82, of Nanticoke, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018, after a battle with cancer and dementia. He went peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Guardian Skilled Nursing Center.

He was the son of the late Carl and Helen Adamchik Kubek of Swoyersville and attended Swoyersville High School.

Thomas was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean conflict.

Upon retiring from Wyoming Valley Garment Company in 1998, where he worked as a manager for 40 years, his favorite pastime was listening and dancing to polkas.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor, and brother, Joseph.

Presently surviving are his devoted wife, Theresa, of 58 years; loving daughters, Tammy (George) Schrepple, South Williamsport; and Mary Ann (Fred) Nigro, Galloway, N.J.; and his dearest grandchildren, Corey (Danielle), Brittany, Kirsten (Harry) and Mackenzie.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday from Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., 51-53 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St. Faustina Parish Church, 520 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. James Nash officiating.

Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Friends are invited to join Thomas's family at calling hours that will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
