Veronica A. Chicoski, 96, of Duryea, a guest at Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Taylor, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Chromey Franko. She attended Duryea schools.

Prior to her retirement, Veronica was employed in the area garment industry and retired from McKinney Manufacturing, Scranton.

Prior to its closing, Veronica was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Duryea, and was a current member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea. Veronica was a very active member of her church and enjoyed working the parish picnics.

Veronica was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, baking and spending time sitting on her front porch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Chicoski, on Oct. 16, 1985, brother, Joseph Franko; and son-in-law, Stanley Ropieski.

Surviving are her daughter, Marian Ropieski, Duryea; son, Edward Chicoski and his wife, Debbie, Pittston Twp.; grandchildren, Stanley Ropieski, Stephen Ropieski, Edward Chicoski Jr. and Stefanie Chicoski; great-grandchildren, Breanne Smith and Brian Ropieski; and great-great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jonas, Ronin and Asher Smith.

The family would like to thank Dr. Guy Fasciana, Riverside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Compassionate Care Hospice for the care and compassion that was shown to Veronica.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
