Walter W. Wegrzynowicz Jr., 74, of Greenfield Twp., passed away Sept. 7, 2018, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center's Hospice Unit, Plains Twp., after a battle with lymphoma.

His wife is Marianne Johnson Wegrzynowicz. The couple was married for 53 years on Sept. 4.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Walter W. Wegrzynowicz Sr. and Sophia Mazaika Wegrzynowicz. He graduated from Meyers High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was a self-employed mechanic at T.A.F. Garage.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey, and sister, Lorraine Kazinski.

Also surviving are his sons, Leonard and wife, Gerri, Abilene, Texas; Mark and fiancee, Alicia, Greenfield Twp.; daughters, Donna Syrylo and husband, Marvin, Scott Twp.; Debra Wegrzynowicz, Wilkes-Barre; and Jennifer Urda and husband, Michael, Scott Twp.; sister, Maryann Pistack, Wilkes-Barre; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

As per Walter's request, he was cremated. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John Vianney Parish, 704 Montdale Road, Scott Twp., PA 18447.

Private burial will be held in Valley View Memorial Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Twp.
