Willard A. (Junior) Herne Jr., 53, of Old Forge passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 12, 2014, in Geisinger Community Medical Center.

Born in Scranton, son of Willard A. Herne Sr., Scranton, and the late Regina Gripp Herne, he was educated in Scranton public schools, was a graduate of West Scranton High School's Class of 1978, and was employed by Panel Print Inc. from 1979 to 2008.
He was an avid hunter and pool player, and enjoyed watching sports and spending time outdoors.
Will was a loving and extremely proud father of his three children, and especially the joyous times spent with his two granddaughters.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jennifer Herne-Mills and husband, Richard, Yatesville; and Stacey Herne, Old Forge; a son, Corey Herne, Old Forge; five brothers, Bobby, Joe, Donald, Phillip and wife, Jean Marie, all of Scranton; and Gene and wife, Amy, Pittsburgh; an extended brother, Jack Stranieri, Scranton; a sister, Regina Florovito and husband, Scott, Old Forge; six nieces and friends.
A service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann St., Scranton, held by the Rev. John Major, pastor of Trinity Episcopal Church, West Pittston.
Interment will be held in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
