William Boston, of Kingston went to his eternal home on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, from Manorcare Nursing, Kingston, surrounded by his family.

Born June 16, 1943 in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late George and Kathleen Esser Boston.

Bill enjoyed working at the Osterhout Library and did so for 27 years, retiring in 2011, and then continued working when needed up until the time of his illness. Prior to the library, he worked in the shoe industry.

Bill will be remembered as a special and loving husband, father and Poppy B to his family. He enjoyed being outdoors, sitting on the porch where he could make cardinals sing to Barbara. He was always an early morning riser and he especially enjoyed his morning time with his neighbor and friend, Ed. He also enjoyed collecting and watching old movies, playing cards with his family and family gatherings, especially Christmas and his annual trip to Florida. He will be sadly and greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Rosser; and sister, Kathleen Boston.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara, with whom he was married 25 years; children, Barbara Rosser, Port Orange, Fla.; Edward Rosser and his wife, Lisa, Mountain Top; Susan Mayeski and her husband, Charles, Wilkes-Barre; Lynn Dear and her husband, Bret, Sparks, Nev.; and William and his wife, Carrie, Hanover Township; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Farrell and her husband, John, Yatesville; Nancy Roberts and her husband, Jack, Wilkes-Barre; and Joan Scorey, Wilkes-Barre; brother, George Boston and his wife, Ruth, Ashley; uncle, Granville Boston, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Boston family would like to thank Manorcare and their staff for their exceptional care for Bill and his family.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
