William "Jack" Burns, 88, of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at River Run Rehab. and Nursing Center in Kingston.

Born in Plymouth, he was the son of the late Taffy and Thelma Bernatovich. He was a graduate of Harter High School and served in the U.S. Army.

After completing his military service, he was employed as an installer for Western Electric and worked for several years at Nabisco Inc. He was a member of the Swoyersville American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Theresa and his sister, Verda Mesaros.

Surviving are his daughter, Marilyn Delaney and husband, Donald; son, John and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Christopher and Susan Delaney and Jamie Burns; four great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Jones; brother, Robert and his wife, Rose.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc., Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.
