Gail C. Bartnick, 75, of Dallas passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late William and Edna Bookholtz Seidel and was a graduate of Hawthorne High School, Hawthorne, N.J.

Gail was a secretary for Carle and Montanari, Hackensack, N.J., leaving there in 1986.

Gail was a den mother for her sons' Cub Scout Troop 29, Hawthorne, N.J., for many years. She was an active member with the Grammar School PTA at Roosevelt School, Hawthorne, and also a Girls Little League softball coach. She loved to travel with her family.

Gail was a member of Dallas United Methodist Church.

She and her husband, John, celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary this past September.

Gail was preceded in death by brothers, Richard and William Seidel; and a sister, Barbara Snyder.

Surviving, besides her husband, are sons, Richard Merchant Jr., Milford; David Merchant, Lyons, N.J.; and Michael Merchant, Ithaca, N.Y.; daughter, Kathy and her wife, Connie Merchant-Kliwinski, Trenton, N.J.; grandchildren, Richard III, David and Daniel Merchant and Lauren Scauzillo; great-grandson, Hunter Harrell; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Robert Wood, pastor, Dallas United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday.
