Robert (Bob) Aston, 64, of El Paso, Texas, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at home.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on March 21, 1948, he was the son of Lenore Aston, 92, of Riverview Ridge, Wilkes-Barre; and the late Trevor Aston.
Bob graduated from E.L. Meyers High School in 1966, where he excelled in several sports. He completed a 27-year career in the U.S. Army and retired as a master sergeant. He served in Vietnam. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his son, Trevor, in Iraq in 2005; and his wife, Catherine, 15 months later.
Bob is survived by his mother, Lenore, Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Peggy Harris and her husband, Bill, Mountain Top; Marybeth Lawrence and her husband, Wayne, Richmond, Va.; nieces and nephews, Jim Harris and family, Philadelphia; Megan Harris Loscomb and family, Vermont; Matthew and Michelle Lawrence, Aston Jay and Tiffany Lawrence, and Elizabeth Lawrence, all of Virginia.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Committal services were held Thursday in Fort Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso, Texas.
