James Flannery, 74, of Pittston Township passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the VNA Hospice, Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born in Philadelphia on March 23, 1938, he was the son of the late Michael and Ann (Taggart) Flannery.
He is survived by his wife, Laura (Anderer ) Flannery; sons, Daniel Iovacchini, Anthony Iovacchini, Michael Flannery; daughter, Mary Theresa Flannery; sister, Nancy McHagan; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Queen of the Apostles Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca, with the Father Phillip Sladicka officiating.
