Josephine B. Sak, 94, formerly of Wilkes-Barre Township and Plains Township, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre Township on June 16, 1918, a daughter of the late John and Mary Atcavage. She attended Marymount Parochial School.
Josephine was formerly employed by the Penn State Belt & Buckle Co., Wilkes-Barre Township.
Josephine was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains Township. She was a former member of St. Joseph's Monastery, Wilkes-Barre Township, where she was an active volunteer and cook at the annual bazaar. She was also a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Sak, in 1985; by her brothers, Stanley, Louis and John Atcavage; and by her sisters, Mary Solt, Regina Carpenter and Edith Rogers.
Surviving are her daughters, Eileen Olszyk and her husband, Paul, Wilkes-Barre Township; and Dolores Jean McCrea, Plains Township; son, Thomas Sak and his wife, Mary Cathleen, Hudson; grandchildren, Randall Olszyk; John Richard McCrea and Jason Michael McCrea; Thomas Sak III and Mary Jeanette Hockenberry; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:30 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Township. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
