Francis (Frank) A. Kastreva, 64, of Alberdeen Road, Mountain Top, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Kingston, he was the son of Genevieve Krapcha Kastreva, of Ashley and Harveys Lake, and the late Francis A. Kastreva, and was a graduate of Ashley/Sugar Notch High School and Wilkes-Barre Technical School.

Frank was employed as a core driller by Sprague Henwood and Jersey Boring and Drilling prior to retiring.

He was a member of St. Mary's, Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Dorrance Township, a social member of the American Legion, Ashley, and the Catholic War Veterans, Ashley.

Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout various parts of the country, including fishing in the Great Lakes, and enjoyed summers at Lake Moc-a-tek in the Poconos. He cherished spending time with his grandsons, Jacob and Justin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Kastreva.

Frank is survived, in addition to his mother, by his loving wife, the former Sharryl Evans; son, Frank W. Kastreva and his wife, Patricia, Ashley; daughter, Bree Ann Garringer and her husband, Timothy, Mountain Top; grandsons, Jacob and Justin; brother, Edward Kastreva and his wife, Linda, Harveys Lake; and nephew, Edward Kastreva Jr.

The funeral service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday from Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 3529 St. Mary's Road, Wapwallopen. The Rev. Gerald Shantillo will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
