Sharon L. Dow Kipiel, 62, of Regent Street, South Wilkes-Barre, passed into eternal life early Wednesday morning, April 3, 2013, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following an illness.

Born in Concordville on Dec. 3, 1950, she was a daughter to the late Richard and Freda Wilkinson Dow. She was a graduate of Garnett Valley High School and furthered her education by attending Bloomsburg University.
Mrs. Kipiel worked for over 25 years with Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania, holding the position of Web developer at the time of her retirement.
She is remembered by family and friends for her love of gardening and the special care she gave her four beloved dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, Thomas J. Kipeil, on May 7, 2003.
Surviving are their daughter, Shelley, at home; grandchildren, Emily Alice and Sagan Thomas; brother, Alan Dow, and sister, KittyJo Dow-McDermott.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of her family from the Wilkes-Barre Heights location of John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 281 E. Northampton St., Wilkes-Barre. As per Sharon's request, there will be no formal public calling hours.
