Robert A. Fetterman, 68, of the Newtown section of Hanover Township, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, in the Department of Veterans Affairs Center, Plains Township, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Arthur W. and Elma Harris Fetterman and was a graduate of Coughlin High School.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, as a sergeant, during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge.
Bob was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the Teamsters Union and several civic and religious organizations.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his brother, William Fetterman, and sisters, Velma Smith and Lillian Fisher.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, the former Molly Henahan; children, Dwayne and his wife, Diana, Collegeville; Wendy Kiska, Ashley; Dawn Grimes and her husband, Joseph, Dorrance; Richard, Parsons; and James, Mountain Top; stepsons, Jerry Suda, Hanover Township; and Chris and his wife, Robin, Pasadena, Md.; stepdaughter, Mary Kate Suda, Hanover Township; 10 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday from Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with military honors. Pastor Robert Fisher, of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, will officiate.
Interment will be private.
The family will begin receiving friends at 4 p.m. Wednesday until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
