Bernard F. (Bud) Figlock, 82, of Dover entered into rest at 1:56 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at his home. He was the loving husband of Barbara J. Howard Figlock.

Born March 5, 1931, in Hudson, Plains Township, Luzerne County, Bernard was a son of the late Bernard F. and Sophia C. Gayewski Figlock Sr.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Bernard received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kutztown University and a master's degree in education administration from Duke University.

He was an assistant principal for York City Middle School and High School for 33 years.

Bernard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, York.

In addition to his wife, Bernard is survived by three sons, Bernard F. Figlock III and companion, Cathy, Westlake Village, Calif.; Matthew T. Figlock, York Haven; and Joseph M. Figlock and companion, Tracy, Eugene, Ore.; former daughter-in-law, Debra Snyder, Dover; a sister, Dorothy L. Brek, Forty Fort; and a nephew, Tim Brek and wife, Carol.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Steven C. Sheffer, and brother-in-law, Thomas Brek.

The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Schendel and Dr. Cathy Manning for 17 beautiful years of caregiving.

Services for Bernard are private at the convenience of the family, with veteran's honors presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. A Memorial Mass will be at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with a tree planting on the farm.
