Guido D. Galli, 75, of Pittston fell asleep in the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at home after a two-year courageous battle with melanoma cancer; his loving and devoted wife and caregiver, Barbara, by his side.

Born May 4, 1938, he was the son of the late William Sr. and Philomena Cerulli Galli.
Guido graduated from Exeter High School in 1957. He was a devout Catholic. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served on the U.S.S. Saratoga.
He was employed for several years by Exeter Meat Packing as a butcher. He was next employed for 34 years as a linesman, electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1319, where he was employed by Kuharchick Construction Co. for 28 years.
Guido was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed riding on his boats on the water; fishing and ice fishing with his wife, Barbara, at their country home. Guido also enjoyed salmon fishing trips to New York and fishing for flounder on the ocean with his wife, Barbara. He enjoyed planting a vegetable garden. He loved working with his hands. Guido was an honest and hard-working man, which began when he was a young boy of 9 years old picking vegetables and cutting flowers on a local area farm. He loved life and lived life to the fullest even as his illness progressed without complaint.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Eydith and Verna; brothers, William Jr. and Anthony; and stepson, Mark Jann.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Brennan Galli; brother, Evo Galli and his wife, Joan, Exeter; sister, Josephine Guarnieri, Arizona; sons, Marc Galli, Wyoming; and David Galli, Pittston; stepson, Ronald Jann and his wife, Mary Ann, Philadelphia; stepgrandsons, Kerri Andrew, Corey Alexander, Raymond Mark, and Matthew Ryan; nieces, nephews, and his hunting dogs, Sara and Toga.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their care, compassion and kindness.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Exeter.
