Ephraim Culp Mower IV, 65, of Nanticoke passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, after a three-year battle with stomach cancer, while surrounded by his family at a hospice facility in Wilkes-Barre. His love of life and family, good humor, quirked eyebrow and warm hugs will be forever missed.

Born and raised in Plum, he was the son of Ephraim C. Mower III and the late Claire Mower.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen; son, Ephraim (V) and wife, Claudia; son, Daniel and wife, Sinue; and four grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Cherie Podwika, Janet Helms and Kathleen Churilla; brothers, Roy and Ronald; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mower was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen, and his brother, James.
A graduate of Plum High School (1966), he took courses in auto design and banking/finance before becoming a certified Novell administrator. His 40-year career in the Hartford, Conn., area ranged from retail to banking to help desk administrator before retiring in 2003.
Mr. Mower was especially proud of his great-grandfather and namesake, who fought at Gettysburg. His hobbies and interests included photography, computers and sound systems, cars and racing, and a love of music spanning many genres.
Per his wishes, Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, is handling the cremation. A memorial service will be held by the family at a future date.
