Theresa Wallace, 82, of Fall Street, Ashley, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

She was born in Ashley on Sept. 11, 1931, the daughter of the late Felix and Lottie Okuniewski Wisniewski. She was a resident of Ashley for most of her life. She graduated from Marymount High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1949, and also was a graduate of the Wilkes Barre Business School, Wilkes-Barre.

She was employed as a bookkeeper by the former Bishop Hoban High School, Wilkes-Barre, and worked more recently for the Luzerne County Conservation District until her retirement.

She was a member of Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch.

Theresa enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, and polka dancing. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, John J. Wallace Sr., in 2002; son, John J. Wallace Jr., in 1998; and brothers, Henry and Edmund Wisniewski.

Surviving are her daughters, Michele Pacini and her husband, Steven, Chambersburg; and Rachelle Amos and her husband, Kevin, Sugar Notch; grandchildren, Patrick Wallace, Stacey Wallace, Eric Newell and Jay Endler; and great-granddaughter, Irelynn Rose Pampus. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. from Holy Family Parish, 828 Main St., Sugar Notch.

Interment will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Sugar Notch.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
