Ethel Mae Noss, 71, of Water Dam Road, Berwick, passed away after a brief illness at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014. She was at her home under the loving care of her family.
The Guest Book is expired.
Born in Huntington Mills, on May 31, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Covert (Harrison) and Willard J. Goss Sr. She was a graduate of Northwest Area High School, and prior to retirement she was employed by Berwick Offrey. Ethel was a "Jack of all trades" and selflessly gave of herself to everyone around her. She will live forever in all the hearts she has touched. She was a wonderful mom, Gram, Gigi and friend, who shared her love of singing, dancing, poetry and living with three generations.
Ethel was the beloved mother of three loving children, Eric D. Noss and wife, Rachel, Shickshinny; Wendy Kaminski, Hazleton; Amy Jo Gurzynski and husband, Andy, Mocanaqua; eight cherished grandchildren, Paula Gegwich and husband Brenden, Kevin Kaminski and wife Amy, James Noss, Eric Noss II and wife Shannon, Alyssa Gurzynksi, Andrew Gurzynski, Joseph Yaron and Karissa Yaron; as well as four beautiful great-granddaughters, Cassidy Sky Kaminski, Alyvia Marie Noss, Cora Adela Gegwich, Kelsey Grace Kaminski. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Goss, Nanticoke; sister, Lois Zultevicz, Stillwater; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Alessandra "Ali" Marie Kaminski; sisters, Bernadine Hunter, Marion Pursel, Edyth Titus; and brothers, Samuel, Richard and Willard Goss Jr.
Writing poetry was a way Ethel expressed her love for life. One, which she wrote in 2011, we'll share:
Sitting in her rocking chair, looking at the sky
She thought of all the memories of all the years gone by.
As she remembered making toys, a tear rolled down her cheek
As she remembered all the tots she'd shown how to play hide-n-seek.
A Grandma will keep a secret and always have a smile,
A Grandma will always hold your hand as you walk with her a mile.
A Grandma's life gets lonely when the children are all grown,
A Grandma's love is always there, but never fully known.
Beloved Mom, Gram, Gigi and friend — We do know how much you loved us and we will miss our daily contact. We hope that you are dancing in the sky and singing in the angels' choir. We hope the angels know what they have, and we know heaven is so much nicer since you arrived. We will miss you dearly until we meet again.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Heller Funeral Home, Nescopeck.
